After bloggin this.. i found out that i seriously need/hope...
1) a CAMERA.. .. the pictures from my phone sucks!! a decent white one.. i saw one at saberkas costing only Rm 3,99!! BenQ offer.. ** i WANT!!
2) Adobe Photoshop.. * think i'll get it in my notebook later on.. images are sooo blur!!
3) a decent place for the party...w ahahahah
4) the management of Mr Ho's special does not come and sue me for this.. /ekekek
5) Mr Ho's will register in the phone company for it's easier to call them next time..
*Review..
As usual i met up at stella's house to hitch a ride with her.. since her dad's on the way to crowne tower as well.. OO excited... we practically reached there around 6.30 pm.. and we immediately went to Mr Ho's to get a table.. the first waiter who offered service was.. kinda bad.. english illiterate and horrible hairstyle.. lucky us, another indian teammate which i think it's the captain of the house came and entertained us.. a table for 6 that is.. thank god, the only table left.. Lucky!!
Then me and stella went around to gt some pictures ++ window-shopping around the corner. Well, i can say the clothes there are kinda.. 'ah lien' and pretty expensive * they think they're the next TJ meh??* but anyway, anyhow.. i've fallen for some shoes.. ** Arrghh RibboNs!! and tight clothes over there.. * hot.. but no money so.. no shopping.. /sob
There were around 5-6 restaurants over at crowne square.. erm first is the japanese restaurant up in front.. red and white.. then it's the Ajiten Ramen Restaurant... behind the first one. Really cool in black.. but the sushis are whoa.. Rm 120 for one boat.. * nice setting. Then it's Mr Ho's at the right side of the entrace.. and Hong Kong Chinese Rest at the end.. macam typical chinese rest la.. got lots of big round tables.. .. Ooo not to mention a Pondok Laguna * malay/jawa kinda setting ( me and stella went in for a quick view and whoa.. they even named the reserved rooms.. Jawa and Surabaya.. cool .. ) And 'Lok Thien' at the top floor.. * for weddings and big big events.. yam-seng corner.. *
So anyway.. we went back to Mr Ho's at 7 something.. had some 'sakai' moments at the shop there.. looking at wine glasses.. wines .. sausages from all over.. the kitchen... cakes.. cheese.. and more of imported food... Hmm .. then we sat down and stare at the menu.. Food? Breakfast set? Pasta? Pork specialty? Drinks? ( there're cocktails.. such as; ps i luv you.. and sangaria, black russian.. and etc..) we sat and chatted, staring at the waiters and waitresses passing by.. till claire + fam came.. cun cun 7.16.. then baru we order.. * freaking res only gave us 4 menus when we have 6 on the table.. Pfft.. (minus mark). Then we started to order drinks.. i recall have a ribena sprite (stella), spirte (me + claire's mum), coke (claire's bro), water (claire's dad) and orange j for claire! nothing really special abt the drinks la...
something i have to commend about the service, is that the waiter does not recommend or explain the dishes to us.. i mean like.. like.. you'll know later on.. so we ordered our food respectively and waited.. Oo then the salad came out.. so big.. it's was so-so la.. *typical salad + breadcrumbs.. then it was the pasta! and the rest of the food.. my comments;
1) Mr Ho's cripsy pork (*sio bak)
~ hmm they're famous for this initially.. hmm if you're looking at the pork.. it looks hard and fatty... but when you eat it.. hmm .. very cripsy and cool.. it comes together with apple sauce, which i dont think it really goes on with it.. not keen on the mouth.. but the sio bak.. okay la.. but i've tasted better ones.. with honey roasted.. aaAaaa.. at least it's not burnt unlike the sio bak outside .. all burnt and hard... /gg but trust me there're better sio baks in kuching.. ** hints*
2) stella's Tiger Prawn Pasta with ....
~ omg is that even a tiger prawn.. it's sooooo tiny!!! and only 2.. served with 'sio bak' (cripsy pork) at the side. weird combination but i dindt tried it.. stella said it was just.. ordinary.. nothing special.. and filling too..
3) claire's Alfredo....
~ creamy and cheesy almost carbonara like but.. i ait know the taste.. looks nice.. not as big plate as you might think it is.. * compared to the fettucinne in The Junk*.. claire said it was nice..
4) Mr Ho's special Laksa... (claire's mummy)
~ quite a big bowl with lots of goodies.. from mussel, prawns, tauhu pok, sio bak, char siew, and etc etc.. well .. according to claire's mummy.. it's rich in flavor and nicer that any other laksa stall.. * better than secret recipe's laksa ho hor..
5) Pasta + lap chiong.. ( claire's daddy..)
~ erm i have no idea what it's called but it's in the pasta section.. jsut plain pasta with lap chiong ( chinese sausages) not exactly fusion.. but claire's dad fusion-ized it with the laksa gravy from claire's mummy.. yum yum according to him..
6) Mixed Grill ... ( claire's bro)
~ a meaty mixture of lamb, beef, chicken and a sausage.. looks .. .. okay.. not as big as you think.. but still filling cos it's meaty.. served with mashed potato..
7) the long awaited one... what i ordered.. The special sausages... .. * disappointment...
~ first, it thought it was 4 long sausages served with mixed veg. and sauce... i was SO WRONG.. i came out a small plate.. just 2 pieces of sausages cut into small pieces and fried together with onions and parsley.. ** ouch... my comments are.. ngai ti: fine i have to admit the sausages are fine but c'mon la.. u serve that and expect a good feedback from me? hah i'd rather buy the 'Danpo chicken franks' from Everise and fry it with onion and egg.. Even nicer than yours man.. swt.
Sorry about that but i was rather disappointed.. i guess my order shocked everyone else.. ahhah even claire's bro gave out a laugh.. (** never actually hear him speak and talk .. he dont even laugh when i say something funny.. but i know.. he 'tahan'.. haha... * sepak him* ).. hmm the sausages are indeed nice but i wont be ordering that the next time.. swt.. i wont recommend that for anyone except for bullemia survivors and people who wants to go on diet.. then i ordered another.. * claire's dad gave me the menu again..*
i was indeed glaring at the Special Family Feast.. costs.. RM 109.99 (whoa... melampaunye aku..) but then i was rather full * thanks to stella's cheese cake and the meaty sausages so i'd go for something light just to fill up my tank! then i saw the mussels claire wanted at first.. looks nice.. so i ordered it! :p
8) Mussels in chili and cheese.. * served with toast
~ okay.. i think this is a blast.. i loved the mussels in cheesy diluted sauce + little bit of spicy-ness.. plus the bread * nothing la the bread.. normal bread go put in toaster nia..* but i like it.. muahahah
Overall, i really enjoyed my time there.. but the restaurant's kind small and crampy.. the waiters and waitresses like.. walk behind you all the time due to the restricted space.. but then.. the pork's cripsy and it's just an okay-okay place for me.. definitely not a suitable family place to eat in my opinion.. more of like.. bringing ang-mo's and business partners there.. hehe
Pricing.. quite expensive for a small shop.. erm.. * i'm being mean!! * But then it's still alright.. swt.. wished there were more food and the drinks could be a little more diversified..
i'd rate Mr Ho's Fine Food : 2.73 outta 5 * my rating very high class one ya... u get more than half ardy good enough liao..
Then we went on to Frappe's @ trav for a drink and yum-cha hour!! Shaun was with us too.. Played UNO and cards.. eheheh
Claire: ".. i dont have red.. why.. who shuffle the cards.. why like that??.."
Me: ".. omg.. so many cards.. wah lao..what happened to all the blue?? .. No...."
Stella: ".. Hooh... Hoook... Hooh.. *weird kung-fu expression* ... no green??.."
Shaun: ".. dang.. + two again.. ++ four again.. iaint got no blues... whre're the blues??.."
Fun Time never ends.. -_____-!! more to come on my next post!!
end**
